My name is Helen and I am an artist and illustrator based in inner city Sydney, Australia, specialising in ink and watercolour art. I started drawing in a stream of consciousness style with fine liner pen in 2016 and over time developed a unique, surreal, dreamlike personal universe. In my work I often draw upon imagery from dreams and fantasy to evoke a sense of eeriness, nostalgia, and mystery that creates a portal between reality and imagination. Drawing with ink is a meditative process for me and at the heart of my practice. I participate in art and design markets on a semi-regular basis. I love to play and experiment in my art and am an enthusiastic keeper of sketchbooks, notebooks, and journals. When not making art I will often be found writing or reading poetry, slow stitching, or going for long, rambling walks.
